Danny Doolan’s is an Irish bar/pub located at 204 Quay St, West, Auckland 1010 New Zealand. It is Auckland’s premier live music venue in the heart of the Viaduct Harbor. This is a cracker venue for both sports and people watching.

Live music performed by the pub’s in-house musicians is available 7 nights a week from 8 pm making this place the right place to be for people who are in the mood for dancing to classic covers.

There is also an excellent variety of pub fare to choose from, including a full Irish basket from 11 am every day.

The Danny Doolan’s menu features a good variety of foods to choose from such as picks and platters, salads and sandwiches, the steakhouse selection, Doolan’s classics and sides and desserts.

The picks and platters list include garlic bread, Danny’s wedges with bacon and melted cheese, grazing plate, crumbed chicken tenders with aioli, jalapeno bites, American style buffalo wings, nachos, steakhouse fries, and Danny’s pick & mixer platter.

The salads and sandwiches list include chicken salad, Moroccan lamb salad, club sandwich, and the scotch steak sandwich.

The steakhouse selection list has 3 main steak dishes which are the rump, the Chicago Sirloin, and the eye fillet. All of the steaks are served with onion rings, fried mushrooms, and either steakhouse fries or creamy mash.

The Doolan’s classics list includes the pubs favored classics such as Galway steamed mussels, full Irish breakfast, roast of the day, fresh fish & chips, chicken parmigiana, Belfast bangers & mash, lamb shakes, and market fish.

The sides include garden salad, creamy potato mash, steakhouse fries, and a side of seasonal vegetables. The dessert features a selection of assorted ice cream with Hersey chocolate sauce cream and chopped nuts.

The beverage options consist of all you favourite beers and wines. They also feature a rare and extensive list of whiskeys from Ireland, Scotland, and other parts of the world. This list of whiskeys includes the Ardbeg Arigh Nam Beist which is a whiskey that was taken from very rare barrels that were laid down in 1990, the Ardbeg Galileo which is made from casks that were distilled in 1999.

Some also spent their full maturation period in casks that previously stored Marsala wine, and the Ardbeg Alligator which was named after the high level of char on the inside of some of the casks that were used for maturation which makes them appear like the skin of an crocodile.

Music and Events

Danny Doolan’s features live music 7 nights every week. The classic music played there gives a really relaxing atmosphere and the staff is also very friendly and welcoming. People who visit the pub also have the option of taking their meals or drinks outside where they can enjoy a nice view of the harbour.

The main events are simply the Danny Doolan’s rare whiskey collection which features new and rare whiskeys collected from different parts of the world, and of course, the live music which is available seven nights a week from 7:30 pm.
