The Ding Dong Lounge is a rock bar located at 26 Wyndham St, Auckland 1010, New Zealand. It is Auckland’s premier rock bar with great rock DJs and live music that’s open to 4am on select days. It has a nice but small menu of food snacks and the beverages options available are very extensive.
Bill Nolan found it back in 2001 when the original Ding Dong Lounge opened on the upper west side of Manhattan and began to gather a following of talented musicians, artists, writers, and actors. The now Ding Dong Lounge was opened in 2013 with the goal of bringing together artists and musicians to a place where they can connect and promote the local scene.
The main bar which is downstairs is a good place for a romantic drinks or catching up with mate’s after a long hard day at work. There is also an upstairs bar which is available for holding special events or private functions such as birthday parties, anniversaries, corporate meetings, and is also used to host weekly live music gigs.

The Ding Dong Lounge has a wide variety of beverages available to choose from. These are tap regular and craft beer, bottled beer, cider bottles, wines of red, white and bubbles, bourbons & whiskeys, gin & vodka, tequilas, cognac, rum and cha-chas, and non-alcoholic beverages of just a few offerings.
The tap beer list includes the Hawkes Bay pure brewed lager, the funk estate smooth operator, Yeastie boys Gunnamatta tea leaf IPA, New Zealand pale ale, Moa Methode German Pilsner, St. Luke milestone ale, and the must try funk estate parleyer pilsner.
The bottled beer list has a wide variety from popular brand names to choose from. The cider bottles include Somersby apple cider, Moa sweet apple cider, and Hawke’s Bay ginger fusion ginger beer.

The food menu features a small but decent variety of tasty snacks of great value from about $8.00 to $12.00. These include curly fries, onion rings, the seafood basket, and chicken wings.
Amenities and Events.
The downstairs bar has several private booths that are good for personal drinks with a friend or companion. Each booth has a screen that displays music videos which accompany songs played over the PA.
The upstairs VIP room offers a full bar with high ceilings and tropical fish tanks that give it a cool and relaxing atmosphere. It is well suited for private gatherings, special functions, live music, and parties and also has a private bathroom and a dedicated smoking area.
There are several events hosted at the bar almost every day of the week. Most of these events are normally rock music events of various types that feature some of the best DJs and artists from New Zealand.
