The Horse and Trap pub has a lovely selection of meals that you can choose from. The dishes which has been titled as ‘Food to Fight Over’ ok let’s not take it that serious though :), this menu includes a good list of food to satisfy any snack to full on hunger needs. These include cheese and garlic pesto bread, bar fries, deep fried pickles, crumbled broccoli & cheese bites, teriyaki beef skewers, Jamaican chicken tenderloins, crispy fried squid, and the must try horseradish croquettes.

Function hosting (best in Mount Eden)
The bar has a two purpose function room inside the building which is divided into two sections namely The Loft and the Stables and is designed to accommodate all types of special occasions. The Loft is a room that is full of natural light making it perfect for holding a press conference.
It can accommodate up to 80 people in the theater style, 60 workgroup or classroom people, and 25 people in a boardroom style. The Stables offer natural lighting, fantastic indoor and outdoor flow to a courtyard, Bose music system, full bar facilities, and separate amenities are included. It can hold up to 200 people and is well suited for big events such as engagement parties, birthday parties, product launches or company meetings.

The Horse & Trap has a trophy cabinet full of shiny things, they have won in 2015 the Best Pub quiz in Auckland and they have also won the Monteith’s Wild-food Challenge Auckland Region trophy of just a few awards.

The Horse & Trap bar is a great place to relax and take your mind off the usual stressful daily routine. The atmosphere is excellent and the food deals and beer are also great. During the Weekend and on Tuesday nights is probably the best days to visit this bar and enjoy a night out of drinking and dancing with friends or family.
The function rooms are also some of the best in Auckland that can offer all that you need to make your event a big success. If you happen to be in the Mount Eden region, pay a visit to his bar and you’ll thank me later.
