History of the establishment

The hotel is located in a building which is more than 100 plus years old. Ever since the first attempt of providing hospitality at the location in 1868, the hotel has had a variety of names along the way. It began as Port Phillip Hotel, became known as the Commercial Hotel in 1901 and was finally named the Dunstan Hotel to this very day. Each renaming was done by a different owner over time. The latest owners expanded, refurbished and decorated the venue to achieve its current, classic and iconic appearance to be as good as new from the olden days (as my mum says).
