Good George Dining Hall and Brewing is a bar and restaurant located in an old church at 32A Somerset Street, Frankton, Hamilton 3204, New Zealand. It is a bar that focuses mainly on brewing some of the best craft beers you will find not only in New Zealand but also worldwide. A group of friends who after years of hospitality and brewing, decided that it was time to make their own craft beer and the rest is history. Their main goal is to show people from all over the world how a great beer is supposed to taste like and to also show even casual drinkers how a beer can be simple, enjoyable, and always should be on your favourite tipple’s list.

Unlike other bars, Good George Brewing does not exaggerate when they say that they offer some of the finest quality crafted beer. Order any beer and you will immediately notice a big difference from what you are normally used to drinking. They ship their ingredients from reputable sources and store everything in a climate controlled area. They also have several beer tours that show guests and customers their entire brewing process and this is a thing to do.

Their beverage selection consists mainly of beer and cider. The beer list has popular selections such as the sparkling pale ale, amber ale, IPA, APA, XPA, pilsner, California pale ale, small wonder pale ale, riot time XPA, stout, black lager, duck island stout, and summer days golden Kolsch.

The cider list includes scarlet peach, Doris plum, blackberry, extra dry apple, drop hop, and feijoa.

There is also a good wine selection to choose from that includes wines such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Pinot Gris, and many others.

The non-alcoholic beverage list includes soft drinks, lemonade, iced tea, juice, sparkling water, and red bull.

Meals include various selections such as snacks, platters, main dishes, sides, smoke bowls, pizza, and a kids menu.

The snacks list includes foods such as garlic bread, edamame beans, Jalapeno cheddar, cornbread, beered battered fries, roasted tomatoes, steamed black burns, brewery bread, loaded potato skins, whole garlic brawns, and chicken wings.

The platters list includes the Good George platter, taco platter, and smokehouse platter.

The smoked bowls include smoked meats such as barbeque poke ribs, dynamite smoked chicken, barbeque miso marinated tofu, dynamite smoked chicken, barbeque pulled pork, and amber ale brisket that you really must try, trust me.

The main dishes list includes grain fed sirloin steak, fish & chips, Asian salad, Dr. Earnest coffee rubbed lamb ribs, beef burger, chicken burger, a vegetarian burger, and a gluten-free burger.

The pizza list includes meat pizza, chicken pizza, vegetarian pizza, and a really great venison pizza.

The kids’ menu mainly includes fries with a choice of chicken nuggets, fish bites, and bacon & cheese mini pizza.

At only $22 per head you get to see and hear how our their beers are made from start to finish, sample the brews and get a Good George glass to take with you also. How cool is that!

Entertainment and Events.

Good George Brewing has a wide variety of live musicians who can be organized as required. If you wish to play music from your favorite iPod playlist, they can easily bring a mixer for playing any and all requested songs. Alternatively, customers and guests can also create their own playlists within their own music systems as deemed appropriate by the management team.

The bar also features several events held at least once a week. Most of them are either beer tasting events or food festivals held either at the bar itself or one of its other venues located around  Hamilton.

Drinks Outside Catering.

If you have a party or any other event that needs some drinks catering Good George will come to you and provide all the brews that you will ever need. You can order the kombi, the caravan, the firetruck, the pop up pub, the mobar or just some kegs and chilli bins. No matter how big or small your event is they have a solution for you.
